Community Grant Successes

 

 

Community Grants Program

The CCEMGV Association awards grants to Cabarrus County Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, organizations, community groups, and individuals with special projects.

They are evaluated based on:

  • The botanical, horticultural, environmental, historic, and/or educational value of the project
  • The community impact of the project - location, public access, public interest, and target audience
  • The planning and future maintenance and/or monitoring of the project
  • Financial status of the project and sponsoring body
  • Funding history and plans: other sources of funding, current budget, and goals for future funding

Scholarship Program

A. Application is open to high school graduating senior students of Cabarrus County Schools and Kannapolis City Schools within Cabarrus County who have applied to and have been accepted into a horticulture-related degree program at a college or university.
B. Elected academic major is in a horticulture-related field which may include but is not limited to: horticulture, agriculture, biology, botany, chemistry, entomology, environmental sciences, genetics, landscape design, urban geography, turf grass specialists, water and irrigation specialists, arborist, green house growers, extension specialists, plant breeders, teachers
